The inherent beauty of code and why its not just "a code"
In this piece I argue that code is not just code, but it is like art, same as with other art form. More philosophical.
Have you ever asked yourself what code is? Is it a language that we write, a code per se, something non-describable or is it something deeper, an expression of ourself?
You may say, all forms of code are not what they are supposed to be - code is nothing but a fundamental system of functional systems helping us to shape and bring to life what we envision.
But here you have it - code is an expression, a form of making visible what otherwise may stay hidden in the dark.
An idea, a form, an expression of something that is within us and demands to be seen. And to be seen, we need to have a form, an expression, a way to bring to life - we could say, a medium that transports our vision into reality.
What mediums are there?
When we look around us, then we see all forms of medium that we use to express ourselves:
- A write writes plain text language to express themselves, some do it in the written word of the language English, some do it in German, Hindi and others in a language free of collective wisdom, but subjective to ones own experience and the beauty of their own defined and created system of the written word - think The Lord of the Rings and his invented words
 - A painter paints with colors, ink, forms
 - A public speaker speaks, as each of us speaks each day, expresses what is within us
 - A singer sings songs, a producer produces films orchestrating not themselves only, but a group of people to create something anew
 - A video producer produces videos, a podcast creator creates podcasts and audio pieces and a fashion designer creates a piece of clothing that in one or the other is an expression of themselves

In each moment where we create something anew we create. We are the actors of bringing something to life. Something that we saw, that we have in our minds, that comes to us and that we orchestrate.
It's the same with code. Code is a medium, the medium to express our ideas and bring our vision to life.
The beauty of code and why it's not about coding itself
With each inherent system that we bring to life, each creation, each idea, each vision, it is not about the code itself.
The code is the medium, is the expression, is the border and frame in which we put our vision. The restriction of the current makes the new possible. The restriction and its boundaries, its non-ability to let us create whatever is possible allows and gives us the ability to think ahead, to envision what has not been before, and to let us experiment with new approaches.
And each new approach, each new try, each new that we do that jumps over a hurdle, that looks around the corner, that finds another pathway is what brings us closer to that restraint and that lets us create something that is anew, something that has pushed the restriction, the boundary, the shimmer of a different new world.
With this in mind we know what coding is. Its the language of the mind, the language of the creation, the language of men who found a medium to create their systems, an opportunity to bring to life what they had envisioned.
And with that, code is not merely a language to be learned and written, a tool to be used, a system to be understood, but it is a system to something greater than pure execution. It is the expression of our vision and the expression of our dreams.
How often, when you code or paint or sing, have you been standing in front of a mirror or a room full of empty people and coded, painted, sung, and you stumbled, you shyed away, you tried to cut corners? You were practicing a skill not for the practice itself, but for the hope of the outcome, the hope for a better world.
The world that lets you grasp that beautiful skill that lets you not only sing, but sing with a purpose, sing what you want, sing how you have seen it in the mouth of those on the big stages of the world, and you wondered - what if I can be there too, what if my music can touch their ears too?
And how often, when you code, or paint or sing, have you been using it not as a form of the skill itself, but as the medium of the expression of yourself? The inner need to be able to hone that skill to create something anew? To push boundaries, to create something not created before?
But do we always know in the moment of creation what we create, or is the pure act of creation a creation itself?
Take coding and let it slight through your fingers. When you set foot into a new field, do you do it because you envision a dream, the dream of mastering the field or a dream of creating an idea, a vision, a vague standpoint of the world, somewhere pushed to the bounders of the possible and yet graspable in the shadows of the hidden trees.
Whatever it is, that you achieve, that you desire that you long for, it brings you to a craft. A form of expression in one way or the other.
A speech, a chit-chat with the guy at the corner, a conflict executed in front of your kids with flying chairs and hurdled grasping of fresh air, all is an expression, an expression of your vision, your desire, your wishes.
And with that, the world becomes your toolset. the world becomes your medium, your approach, your objective. It's your toolbox and your desire. When you dream, you dream in the constraints of the possibilities of the earth, the humans on our planet, your village and your group of friends, and your mediums, your channels your tools? You find them on earth, in your village, in your group of friends.
You run around, walk and paint and sing your way to your truest expression, the way you ant to be the way you desire to be, the vision you want to see come alive, you orchestrate and paint, code and talk till you see a glimpse of your vision come to life each moment, one moment at a time.
And you walk, walk towards what you look to achieve. To express. To show and to bring to life.
And now?
You still wonder if code is only a code? Only a mere tool, a language, a thing to touch and use?
Or maybe it is so much more. Maybe its the door to your own mind. The door to a new form of expression. The door to make your vision a reality.
Because who else would do it? And who else would give you that permission if not you? To code, paint, sing, speak and write and orchestrate. To bring to life what you envision with the channels, mediums and expressions that you master to bring to life what would otherwise be hidden in the black shadows of the dark corner of time.
